Set Up A Carpool
Why?
Setting up a carpool is very easy. For instance, if you know that you and your friend are going to the same park, you could drive together. That way you can help save the environment, some money and spend some time with your friend!
According to the Sightline Institute, the average car with a single driver emits 1.10 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile.
When you carpool, an average car with a driver and two passengers naturally decreases that number to 0.37 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile, because of the car(s) that you have taken off the road.
So… with that being said, the average vehicle releases about ten thousand pounds of carbon dioxide every year. That’s a lot of CO2!
