Grab some comfy shoes because you're going to need them for this challenge!
Today's challenge is:
Walk somewhere you would normally drive.
Why?
As you learned about in yesterday's post:
"According to the Sightline Institute, the average car with a single driver emits 1.10 lbs of carbon dioxide per mile" This means that for every 1/2 mile you drive, your car will emit 1.10 pounds of CO2. By walking instead of driving, you help save the environment, reduce the wear on the roads, and save yourself money.
Walking is also highly beneficial to your mental health!
● Decreased tension, stress and mental fatigue
● A natural energy boost
● Improved sleep
● A sense of achievement
● Focus in life and motivation
● Decreased anger or frustration
If just 25 people walked 1/2 mile that they would have driven, they would prevent 13.75 pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere! So tell your friends and neighbors to join our challenge!
