Welcome to Waste Week!
Today’s challenge is:
Donate One Piece of Clothing That You Don’t Wear Anymore to a Resale Shop
I bet that there is a skirt, a pair of pants or a shirt in your closet or dresser that you don’t wear anymore. Why not donate it so that someone who maybe can’t afford to buy full priced clothes can have a chance?
A lot of places give you a tax deduction if you donate and some places like Goodwill, have special missions to help certain people in need of a job, money, clothes and multiple other things.
I pulled this off of Goodwill’s website: (http://www.goodwill.org/about-us/)
Goodwill
Goodwill’s meet the needs of all job seekers, including programs for youth, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, criminal backgrounds and other specialized needs. Last year, Goodwill helped more than 6.7 million people train for careers in industries such as banking, IT and health care, to name a few — and get the supporting services they needed to be successful — such as English language training, additional education, or access to transportation and child care.
Our Mission
Goodwill works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.
